In this descriptive-correlational study, 566 students of Birjand university were selected by the cluster sampling and they answered the questionnaire of seven deadly sins, dark personality scale, subscale of sorrow of being compared, envy scale, material preoccupation subscale, and greed-contentment scale. The Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were applied for testing the study hypotheses. Some of the results are as follows: 1. Sorrow of being compared, Machiavellianism, and material preoccupations predict wrath. 2. Sorrow of being compared, Machiavellianism, material preoccupations, and psychopathy predict envy. 3. Machiavellianism, sorrow of being compared, psychopathy, and material preoccupations predict gluttony. 4. Machiavellianism, material preoccupations, and psychopathy predict greed. 5. Machiavellianism, sorrow of being compared, and material preoccupations predict lust. 6. Machiavellianism, material preoccupations, psychopathy, and sorrow of being compared predict pride. 7. Material preoccupations, sorrow of being compared, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism predict sloth. این پژوهش با هدف بررسی نقش «مثلث تاریک شخصیت»، «دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی» و «اندوه ناشی از مقایسه» در «گناهان کبیره» انجام شد. در یک پژوهش توصیفی همبستگی، 566 نفر از دانشجویان دانشگاه بیرجند با روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای انتخاب و به «پرسشنامه هفت گناه کبیره»، «مقیاس شخصیت تاریک»، «خرده‌مقیاس اندوه مقایسه»، «مقیاس حسادت» و «خرده‌مقیاس دل‌مشغولی مادی»، «مقیاس حرص−قناعت» پاسخ دادند. برای آزمون فرضیه‌های پژوهش از همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون چندگانه استفاده شد. بعضی از یافته‌ها عبارتند از: 1) اندوه مقایسه، ماکیاولیسم و دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی پیش‌‎بینی‌کننده خشم هستند؛ 2) اندوه مقایسه، ماکیاولیسم، دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی و سایکوپاتی پیش‌‎بینی‌کننده حسادت می‌‎باشند؛ 3) ماکیاولیسم، اندوه مقایسه، سایکوپاتی و دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی پیش‌‎بینی‌کننده شکم‌پرستی هستند؛ 4) ماکیاولیسم، دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی و سایکوپاتی پیش‌‎بینی‌کننده حرص می‌‎باشند؛ 5) ماکیاولیسم، اندوه مقایسه و دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی پیش‌‎بینی‌کننده شهوت هستند؛ 6) ماکیاولیسم، دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی، سایکوپاتی و اندوه مقایسه پیش‌بینی‌کننده غرورند و دل‌مشغولی‌های مادی، اندوه مقایسه، سایکوپاتی و ماکیاولیسم پیش‌بینی‌کننده تنبلی هستند. https://islamicpsy.rihu.ac.ir/article_1697_eabc82367f43ebd5ddd0730502dabe83.pdf
