Abstract

This study aims to compare and contrast the religious orientation of senior students and freshmen. In doing so, a number of senior students of Engineering, Basic Sciences, and Humanities (N=700), and some freshmen of the same colleges (N=3000) were selected through stratified sampling which amounted to 237 and 124 respectively.  In this research the Religious Orientation Questionnaire was used as an instrument for measurement of religious orientation and the SPSS software for data analysis. The descriptive and inferential statistical indexes are as follows: mean, variance, STD, error difference, independent T test, ANOVA analysis and Scheffe's test. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the religious orientation of the senior students and the freshmen at the 0.01 level. Upon application of Scheffe's test, it was found out that there is a significant difference between the religious orientation of students of Humanities and that of the Basic Sciences students.
