Introduction and purpose: The effect of religiosity on psychological well-being has been under discussion for many years. Yet only in the second half of the previous century, this subject was put to experimental test. This study aims at studying the relationship between religiosity and one of the aspects of psychological well-being i.e. psychological hardness.
Research method: For this purpose, as many as 200 students (89 men and 111 women) from the students of Khoy Islamic Azad University were selected through cluster sampling. The research tool included Kobasa hardness questionnaire and Gulzari's MABAD scale for measuring religiosity. Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used for analysis of the data.
Results: The results showed that there is a significant positive correlation between religiosity and hardness and that religiosity is a good means for predicting hardness.
Discussion: This research has discovered the relationship between religiosity and hardness and it emphasizes on the point that religiosity may have benefits for psychological well-being
