The Relationship of the Couples' Gender Roles and Personality Types with the Family Efficiency

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of the couples' gender roles and personality types A & B with the family efficiency. This correlational study is a descriptive research. The population was the 5-7 grade religious students and their spouses in the city of Qom in 2015-2016. 240 students including 120 couples were selected by the cluster sampling and responded to the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI), personality types A & B (Rosenman & Friedman) questionnaire, and Safurayi Family Efficiency Questioner based on Islamic view (SFEQI). The Pearson correlation test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the Androgenic gender role and the family efficiency. There is a negative and significant relationship between indistinct gender role and the family efficiency. The distinct gender roles including masculine and feminine do not have a significant relationship with the family efficiency. There is a positive and significant relationship between the personality type B and the family efficiency and a negative and significant relationship between the personality type A and the family efficiency
