Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship of psycho-spiritual development level and loneliness with existential anxiety among the students. So with the help of multistage sampling, 341 girl students studying for bachelor's degree in Qom University were selected. All the selected students were tested with three tests of psycho-spiritual development, existential anxiety, and loneliness scale. The findings show that there is an inverse relationship between psycho-spiritual development and existential anxiety (r=-0.487) (P<0.01). In addition, there is a moderate meaningful positive correlation (P<0.01) between existential anxiety and loneliness and all its subscales. Also the results show that both psycho-spiritual development level and loneliness can significantly foresee existential anxiety (R2=32.5). It is expected that increasing psycho-spiritual development level is a key factor in decreasing existential anxiety and loneliness followed by improving mental health.
