Abstract
The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship of belief in religion, self-esteem, and academic achievement among the students studying in the faculty of human sciences, Islamic Azad University, Qom Branch. The research methodology is descriptive-correlational. 246 students were selected with the help of stratified sampling. The research data were collected through Coopersmith self-esteem inventory with α=0.81 and Allport religious orientation scale with α=0.76. Pearson correlation coefficient, Kendall's t, independent samples t-tests, Fisher's z, and one-way analysis of variance were used for analyzing the data. Some of the findings show that a) there is a non-significant positive relationship of belief in religion with self-esteem and academic achievement; b) there is a non-significant positive relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement; c) the correlation between self-esteem and belief in religion is not significantly different among girl and boy students; d) the correlation between belief in religion and academic achievement is not significantly different among girl and boy students.
