Abstract

One of the worthy topics of research in the field of psychotherapy is taking the history of disorder in the counseling room, which is one of the important processes in all counseling and psychotherapy approaches. Obtaining the history is done in different ways, which in some cases will be reminiscent of the title of surveillance. For example, "free association" which was emphasized by Freud belongs to this category. The question of the research was whether the "necessity of examining the history in counseling and therapy sessions" is in conflict with the rule of "prohibition of prying into other people's lives according to Islam"? Or is there a solution for it? In order to answer this question, the current research has used the methods of "Ijtihadi", in context of "Rational Analysis". The findings of the research showed that: 1. Historical topics according to counseling and psychotherapy approaches are very broad and with definitions such as "all memories even pushed back and painful", "all mental risks", "forgotten events and unconscious substances" , "Disgusting and ugly content", "Trivial and trivial content", "Maximum details" and "disturbing secrets" and..., have been expressed; This expansion indicates that the therapist, knowingly or unknowingly, will turn to investigation in therapy sessions; 2. "Investigation into other people's affairs" is not acceptable from the point of view of Islam; 3. "necessity of treatment" from the Islamic point of view causes "examination, to the extent necessary for treatment", to be considered an exception and considered permissible under its own special conditions.
